Gabriel Butler

PhD student at Cornell University

I am a first year PhD student in the Public Policy program (Theoretical Economics track) at Cornell University. I am also an affiliate of the Cornell Center for the Study of Inequality and the Cornell Center for Social Science. In 2020, I was an American Economic Association Summer Program fellow at Michigan State University, where I took PhD level coursework in Economics. I graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.A. in Business Economics and a minor in Japanese. Prior to entering Cornell, I worked as a Research Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.

My primary interests are in health and labor economics and their intersections with race and inequality, econometrics and machine learning. My email address is gabriel.butler [at] gmail.
